Endododontic surgery is the treatment necessary when it is not possible to heal the tooth affected with an apical lesion, also called granuloma, with a normal endodontic treatment thought the tooth crown. This happens usually when necrosis of the pulp, sometimes called nerve, occurs, that means that the pulp dies due to deep caries or traumas. Sometimes these lesions are due to incomplete canal treatments where the dentist was not able to treat the root because of anatomical limitations. If the surgical treatment is done correctly, there is high percentage of success.
