Lorenzo Vanini
Dr. Vanini has graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pavia in 1980, and has been dealing with aesthetic dentistry for twenty years, with a particular interest for the conservative restoration of anterior teeth and for the research in the field of composite material.
He has developed a new colour determination system for dentistry and a special anatomic layering technique for composite materials that is now used at an international level and is adopted as teaching subject at several Universities, in Italy as well in Europe and in the USA.
He was a teacher and instructor of Conservative Dentistry at the Specialization School of the Istituto San Paolo, Università degli studi, Milan, in 1986-1987.
He is an active member of the Italian Society for Dental Aesthetic, of the Italian Academy of Conservative Dentistry (A.I.C) and of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics.
He is teacher in several schools and University master in Italy and abroad. He is teacher in several Universities and Master course in Italy and abroad.
He is teacher of Aesthetic Dentistry at the University of Rome La Sapienza and visiting Professor of Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry at the University La Mediterranee of Marseille. He develops researches on composite materials in Italy and in Germany.
He is the author of several publications, co-author with Dr. Fabio Toffenetti of the manual "Nuovi Concetti Estetici nell'uso dei materiali compositi" edited by "Amici di Brugg" in 1995, co-author with Dr. Massimo Fuzzi and Roberto Spreafico of the manual "Il restauro conservativo dei denti posteriori 2" edited by "Amici di Brugg" in 2000 and author together with Prof. Francesco Mangani and Dr. Olga Klimoskaia of the two-volume book "Il restauro conservativo dei denti anteriori" edited by Acme Viterbo in 2003, available also in the English version "The Conservative Restoration of Anterior Teeth" 2005, and available in Russian from Spring 2006.
He published, in 2005, DVD collection "State of the Art in Composite Anterior Restorations following Lorenzo Vanini technique" on aesthetic restoration of vital and non vital tooth and on composite veneers, edited and distributed by Micerium SpA, Avegno (GE) and available in Italian, English, Russian and German.
He lectures in international congresses and holds private courses on aesthetic dentistry at the Centro Corsi Aggiornamenti in San Fedele Intelvi (Como, Italy), where he works free-lance, devoting himself especially to aesthetic dentistry and neuromuscular dentistry.
